Created in 1993, ADERE- Peneda Gerês is a private non-profit institution that develops its activity in the regions of the five municipalities covered by the Peneda Gerês National Park.
Its activities focus on the development of projects financed by the European Community and by the Portuguese State, in order to contribute towards an improvement in the living conditions of the resident populations and enhance and conserve Natural and Built Heritage.
By means of implementation of these projects ADERE is also able to promote and divulge the regions at an external level, either directly to visitors and tourists using ADERE's Reservations Office or via the publication of promotional advertisements in regional and national newspapers and the organization and participation in trade fairs (in Portugal and Spain).
ADERE also develops Professional Training initiatives for residents of the PNPG Regions (preferential requirement) in order to endow participants with knowledge and skills that will enable them to improve their professional performance or create new sources of earnings that complement traditional agricultural activities.
